Pacific Palisades

Coastal. Affluent. Secluded

Pacific Palisades is an affluent residential neighborhood tucked between the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Temescal Gateway Park offers hiking trails with sweeping coastline views, and the sandy Will Rogers State Beach provides access to a 22-mile beachfront bike path. Landmarks include the sumptuous Getty Villa museum showcasing Greek and Roman antiquities, and the mid-century modern Eames House. Homes range from small original mid century or ranch style homes to larger, new construction in traditional Cape Cod/East Coast style or Modern styles.

Shopping

In 2018, Rick Caruso, the developer of The Grove and Americana in Glendale, developed part of the downtown Palisades into an outdoor mall called Palisades Village, with boutique and eclectic storefronts, which brought more hi end shopping and restaurants to the community.

  • Reformation: The clothing brand has created an online presence which has pushed them to the top of sales, proving that their stylish and vintage inspired designs are worthwhile, all while establishing sustainable practices.

  • St. Frank: This shop specializes in unique luxury homewares from artisans around the world.

  • Towne by Elyse Walker: Elyse Walker has been a long standing established luxury clothing store in the Palisades, and now she has brought her California cool to another store within Palisades Village.

  • Zimmerman: Hi-fashion but with a bohemian flair, Zimmerman has collections that show off femininity with their flowery prints on blouses, mini dresses, skirts and dresses.

  • The Little Market: Once only online, this is the first storefront non-profit location founded by Lauren Conrad and Hannah Skvarla. The store celebrates and supports handmade goods from female artisans around the world.

Restaurants

  • Golden Bull: Recently renovated by the group that brought us Margos, Art’s Table, the Ocean Park Cafe and Ashland Hill in Santa Monica. The classic 1949 established restaurant (which was great too!), it is now an upscale chophouse and bar on W. Channel Road off of PCH, with multiple outdoor patios, and a fun bar scene that brings out the local Palisadians.

  • The Pearl Dragon: Asian cuisine with a modern Cali vibe. Sushi bar, craft cocktails and friendly waitstaff.

  • Porta Via: New to the Palisades in Caruso’s mall, Porta Via is an upscale California Bistro and bar.

  • Mason: Relatively new to the restaurant scene, Mason has an intimate club feeling, craft cocktails and delicious American classic food with a polished ambiance.

  • Draycott: The Draycott is a family friendly California brasserie, inspired by London’s Draycott Avenue. Features wholesome and classic dishes using locally sourced ingredients.

  • Casa Nostra: Traditional Italian in the Highlands, classic pastas, fish and seafood with a large wine menu and outdoor seating.

Things to See and Do:

  • Temescal Canyon Gateway Park: Located at the top of Temescal Canyon and Sunset, it is one of the most popular parks in the Santa Monica Mountains and encompasses 141 acres of oak and sycamore canyons, ridgetop views, and access to miles of trials in Topanga State Park, Will Rogers State Historic Park, and the 20,000 acre “Big Wild”.

  • Getty Villa: Along the Pacific Coast Highway, The Getty Villa sits majestically atop the hillside. It houses an extensive collection of Greek, Roman and Etruscan antiquities. The Roman Style architectural Villa and surrounding buildings were beautifully restored in 2006 for $300,000,000.

  • Lake Shrine Temple and Retreat: Visitors are awed by the lovely lake side with meditation gardens, a setting perfect for contemplation while staring out onto the peaceful lake full of gliding swans and koi. The indoor Shrines and Temple Sanctuary are for meditation and prayer. Lake Shrine is free to visitors.
